Dr. Dixie Reierson
Hi, I'm Dr. Reierson. I've been with Frey Pet Hospital since May 1989. I graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. I grew up on a farm near Elgin in northeast Iowa and I am the oldest of four children. During that time, I was fortunate to learn firsthand about a wide variety of animals. I'm sure these childhood experiences are where my love of animals originates.
Although I enjoy many aspects of my job, I take a special interest in our puppy socialization classes and constantly seek out more information on behavior aspects in pet animals. My very supportive family includes my husband, Kurt, and our two daughters. We also have some four-legged family members: Bailey, a Jack Russell Terrier, Cinder, a German Shepherd, and Mask, our outside "huntress" cat.
My own personal interests are quite varied. When I can find some free time, I enjoy camping and hiking with my family and attend local theatre and symphony events. I try to make exercise a regular event in my life by working out at a health center several times a week.
