Dr. Steen's Profile

I graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2000, joining Frey Pet Hospital shortly thereafter. I grew up on the edge of Mechanicsville, Iowa, raising and showing beef cattle. It was there that I first developed an interest in Veterinary Medicine. I now enjoy all aspects of small animal medicine, but particularly Internal Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery. My wife, Angie, and I have 2 lovely daughters. We also have a cat named Durkheim (my wife named him). In my free time I enjoy golfing, fishing, and watching sporting events. We make several trips to Ames throughout the year to watch Cyclone Football and Basketball games.
